About Grenland Havn

Grenland Port Authority is an inter-community company, owned by Skien, Porsgrunn and Bamble Municipalities. Grenland Port Authority was established in 1992, and is today responsible for all port administration in the Grenland area.

The port administration

Grenland Port Authority is in charge of the surveillance and management of the Grenland Port district from Saastein/Moelen in the Bay of Langesund up to Klosterfossen in the town of Skien. In addition to this watercourse, the Port Authority also manages a number of public quays and terminals with mooring and loading/discharging facilities.

The main tasks for the port authority is to:

  • Taking care of maintenance and functionality of the port facilities.
  • Checking that port users operate in accordance with the laws, rules and regulations.
  • Assisting all port users, and in particular vessels calling at the port, with the necessary information and instructions for a speedy and smooth operation of ships and cargo in the port.
